Welcome to Cheswold Park Hospital

Cheswold Park Hospital is a gender specific hospital for men.  We assess and treat men with mental illness, personality disorder and learning disability who require specialist psychiatric care in a low or medium secure environment.

Cheswold Park Hospital is purpose built and was established in 2006.  The hospital works in partnership with the NHS and is committed to providing outstanding levels of service to patients that is flexible, needs led and based on individuals requirements.

Here at Cheswold Hospital we have the following services and facilities:

  • 109 beds split into 8 dedicated 12 bed wards and 1 Independent Living Flat; each bedroom with an en-suite bathroom
  • 12 beds – Low Secure - Mental Illness Acute Service
  • 15 beds - Low Secure - Mental Illness Rehabilitation Service
  • 12 beds – Low Secure - Mental Illness (Rehabilitation and Forensic Assessment) Service
  • 15 beds - Medium Secure - Mental Illness and Personality Disorder
  • 27 beds -  Low Secure - Personality Disorder Assessment and Treatment Ward
  • 27 beds - Medium Secure Learning Disability Service (please click here for more information)

Each ward has a dedicated lounge, individual secure garden, dining room, laundry, kitchen, activity room, interview room and admin space.

Our extensive therapy areas include: gymnasium, sports hall, shop, worship room, OT kitchen, IT room, music workshop, group rooms, horticulture etc.

Our dedicated full time on site Multi-Disciplinary Team of professionals includes Consultant Forensic Psychiatry, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy and a full complement of Nursing staff, including Learning Disability Nurses.
