Yesterday, our #LitterHeroes went out for the second day to tackle litter in the local area. Our volunteers, tools at the ready (thanks to our Local Doncaster Council link!) spent two hours hunting for litter under bushes, in hedges, that was scattered across the local area.
Yesterday we collected 8 full bags of litter! This was then logged online and sent to The Keep Britain Tidy Organization, a charity with an aim “to inspire people to eliminate litter now and for future generations” and “to change behaviour permanently by spotlighting the problem daily and offering creative solutions.” According to the charity, more than two million pieces of litter are dropped in the UK every day.
We hope that you enjoy the tidier area and join us in our mission to tackle litter. We have so far collected 15 bags of rubbish from the surrounding area.
