Here at Cheswold Park Hospital we are preparing for the holiday season! It’s the most wonderful time of year again where tinsel lines the walls, twinkling trees stand tall and the snow starts to fall. This Spirit of Christmas is buzzing around the wards and through the offices. We have completed seasonal events like; Christmas card contest, Winter Wonderland Ward decoration contest, Food bank collection, Christmas parties and the team member Christmas Dinner.
Christmas Card Contest
This year, the patients on Gill Ward have designed their own Christmas cards using 3D materials which were all submitted into the patient Christmas card competition. We couldn’t pick one winner so we decided to use all of the designs on the final card. We would like to thank everyone who participated and got involved in the Christmas card competition.
Winter Wonderland
All nine wards have gone head to head to create the best winter wonderland. Patients and staff on the wards teamed up to decorate in time for Christmas. Dave Quality Assurance & Contracts Director and Rachel from the Communications team judged the contest on Friday 21st. Prize Money was up for grabs to go towards Christmas parties. The winners are:
Aire and Foss Ward – joint 1st Place
Hebble Ward - 2nd Place
Esk, Neville and Gill Ward - 3rd Place
Every other ward received a runners up prize.
Dave and Rachel would like to say a huge well done to all staff and patients for not only making amazing efforts decorating the wards, but for welcoming us and joining in the festive spirit.
Food Bank Collection
The dedicated team on Cheswold Park’s Aire ward organised a collection for The Trussel Trust food bank Doncaster. Team members generously donated money, food and toiletries that will be put to good use by the trust to help those in need over the Christmas period. We are proud of every team member that goes further in their dedication to caring for others.
Christmas Dinners
Throughout December, the team members of Cheswold Park Hospital have been treated to a Christmas dinner served to them by members of the Senior Management Team. This is an annual tradition that gives the SMT the opportunity to say thank you.
However, patients are not left out as they enjoy a Christmas Day and Boxing Day Feast.
