In a bid to explore different methods of communication, our Recovery College held their first of 6 "Introduction to Sign Language" classes yesterday. The session was well attended by patients and staff alike, all keen to learn a new and interesting skill. We looked at fingerspelling as well as discussing the challenges faced by those who are deaf or hard of hearing in today's society. Many thanks to our patient and Occupational Therapy Team who co-produced and co-facilitated this fantastic course. We can't wait to learn numbers and sentence structure next week!
