Ward Manager – Wentbridge
Job Description
We are looking to recruit a Ward Manager for our new low secure Autism Service at Cheswold Park Hospital. The organisation is currently rated Good having addressed many but not yet all shortcomings. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Manager and Clinician to assist in the development of a new and exciting service. As the Ward Manager, you will have a huge opportunity to influence decisions and help shape a new team and environment.
Job Requirements;
You will be an experienced qualified registered RMN or RNLD (min 3 years), Management experience (min 1 years) whilst having a real passion for developing your skills in an ever-changing environment. You will be a highly competent clinical practitioner, a consistently solid decision-maker, a good communicator and a teacher so you develop nursing staff to deliver best practice and care. You must have the ability to motivate a team to deliver benchmark care. You will believe in putting the patient’s needs above those of others, you will have a real desire to keep patients and staff safe, you will know what effective care looks like and you will take real satisfaction in making a difference. You must be good with people and demonstrate compassion for your patients and their needs over all other things.
Key Responsibilities;
· To motivate, support and enable the Ward Team to achieve high-quality patient care
· To ensure that systems are developed, maintained and implemented for Clinical Governance and Audit
· Lead and co-ordinate the team to ensure that staff ratio’s and numbers are available for each shift and rosters are well planned
· Deputise for the Service Manager in their absence
· Maintain regular attendance at MDT, CPA MHRT and any other forums relevant to the position
· Ensure that all patients have up to date Care plans containing risk assessments that address all areas of need and are regularly reviewed and evaluated
· Assist in co-ordinating and implementing any action plans following Compliance visits such as CQC
