Support Worker (New Female Service)
We have been commissioned to open a new secure service for women originating from Yorkshire. Many of these women are currently placed out of area. Phase 1, comprising a 14-bed facility is scheduled for opening in February 2020 and we require a team of exceptional Support Workers to help create and deliver this new service. This is a great opportunity to join a new service as it starts. You will be joining at a time where new ideas, organisational abilities and clinical knowledge will be welcomed in creating the right values, culture and standards.
The MDT is led by a well-regarded Forensic Consultant with substantial experience in delivering women’s services and who has been a member of the national review team for Women’s Services. Our people are our only asset and as a Support Worker on a new service you will have a huge part to play in developing this new service and in ensuring that we deliver a safe and effective service, which patients and their families regard highly. You will be supported by a well-resourced MDT consisting of Forensic Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, Social worker, Family Therapist and their assistants.
You will be an experienced Support Worker (min 2 years), have a real passion for developing your skills in an ever changing environment. You will be passionate about putting the patients’ needs above those of others, you will understand how to identify, evaluate and appropriately respond to risk so you and your patients are safe, you will know what effective care looks like and you will take real satisfaction in making a difference. Previous experience of having worked with women in secure services would be desirable but not essential.
