Psychologist (Clinical or Forensic)

Due to our recent GOOD CQC rating and further plans to expand, we are now looking for an exceptional and talented Registered Psychologist to join our expanding team within a forensic independent hospital and NHS community setting. This is a diverse role that will allow the post holder to work across medium and low secure settings whilst also having the opportunity to input in a community setting. Our people are what makes us unique, and it is our shared values and beliefs that ensure we provide the best care and environment for our patients and teams to thrive.

We offer our Psychology department the opportunity to engage in continuous development through both internal and external training and/or providing development that is specific to the needs of the individual. The psychology department is trained in specific therapeutic approaches such as Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), and intervention for sexual/violent/arson offending for example. Any new member of the team would be offered the opportunity to continue developing in line with identified therapeutic approaches.

The candidate would work across the service which caters for men and women providing assessment and therapy for individuals with diagnoses of personality disorder, mental illness, and autism. The candidate would be part of the autism service Multi-Disciplinary Team contributing to the development of psychological treatment pathways but would also hold a mixed caseload based upon skills and needs of individual patients across the entire service. Any candidates with autism experience who were successful would have the opportunity to contribute to the continued development of this new service.

Previous experience of working with individuals with an autism diagnosis would be advantageous as would training in specialist interventions such as DBT, Schema Therapy, Mentalisation Based Therapy and forensic intervention programmes. Candidates should be familiar with the use of structured professional judgement tools such as the HCR-20 and RSVP. The position is open to newly qualified psychologists with relevant experience who would be provided with development support in a Registered role.
