 Training

Cheswold Park hospital is committed to the Learning and Development of its entire staff to deliver the highest quality care and services to and for our patients.

To achieve this we offer training for a large variety of Learning and Developmental opportunities for staff; including

  • Level 2 or 3 Diploma in Health & Social care, Catering, Information Technology, Customer Care Administration and Leadership and Management.
  • Other educational programmes such as (KUF) Knowledge and Understanding Framework and (RAID) Reinforce Appropriate Innapropriate Disruptive within our pathway to support our specialist services.
  • Facilitation skills for group working in substance misuse, addiction awareness training, motivational interviewing, sexual offending treatment and CBT to deliver therapeautic treatment programmes either on the wards, on a one to one basis or group working.
  • CPD programme of lectures, case presentations, journal club and visiting speakers.
  • Clinical Teaching Programme - runs monthly on a variety of topics.
  • Risk Assessment training in FACE version 6 and HCR20 version 3.
  • Needs Assessment Training in HONOS - Forensic
  • A five day mandatory induction training programme for all employees.
  • Mandatory and statutory training programmes, Health & Safety, Fire, Infection Control, Manual Handling, Safeguarding Children and Adults, Mental Health Awareness, Mental Health Act updates, Search and handcuffing, Information Governance and Hospital security.
  • Immediate Life Support (ILS) for qualified staff and Basic Life Support (BLS) for all clinical staff.
  • E-learner package database, expanding all the time.
  • Management of Violence and Agression using MVA techniques in conjuction with a conflict resolution training package.

Cheswold Park Hospital is a promoter of learning and development and we have our own secondment programme for Support Workers to become Registered Mental Health Nurses studying with the Open University.

Cheswold Park Hospital supports staff in Higher Educational programmes on an individual basis based upon their individual personal development programme and needs of the service.

Cheswold Park Hospital offers placements for clinical staff in training and have staff trained in the support and assessment of professional students.
