Cheswold Park hospital is committed to the training and development of its entire staff to deliver the highest quality care and services to and for our Service Users.

To achieve this we offer training for a large variety of training and developmental opportunities for staff; including

  • NVQ's in Health and Social Care, Catering, Information Technology, Customer Care Administration and Leadership and Management
  • Educational programmes to support specialist services such as our personality disordered, learning disability services, such as the Learning Disability Qualification
  • Facilitation skills for group working, substance misuse/addiction training, Motivational Interviewing and CBT course, to deliver therapeutic treatment programmes either on the wards on a One to One basis or group working
  • CPD programme of lectures, case presentations, journal club and visiting speakers
  • Risk Assessment training in FACE and HCR20
  • Needs Assessment Training in HoNOS-Forensic, CANFOR, and CANDID
  • The Mandatory and Statutory training programmes, Fire, Infection control, Manual Handling, Health and Safety
  • Management of Violence and Aggression using the Management of Actual or Potential Aggression (MAPA), Promoting Safer Therapeutic Services (PSTS) and Promoting Positive Behaviour (PPB)

Cheswold Park Hospital supports staff in Higher Educational programmes on an individual basis based upon their individual personal development programme and needs of the service.

Cheswold Park Hospital offers placements for clinical staff in training and have staff trained in the support and assessment of professional students.
